Every month the “Sunny Girl” project supports 260 teenage girls in the Liverpool School Community. These girls struggle to afford to buy sanitary pads & therefore absent themselves from classes during their menstrual cycle. This means they miss out on 25% of their education because they cannot afford 50p a month!! This may seem a very small amount of money BUT, to put it in perspective, at the School a primary teacher only earns £30 a month.

The girls would like to thank all the local ladies that are supporting this project and have sent this message: “Thank you for your generous offer of support in funding the buying of sanitary pads. You have guaranteed our safety in school as in the past the majority of us stayed away from school during our menstrual period. Your generosity has saved us from potential health problems as sometimes we would use ordinary cotton or clothes and there were many health risk factors associated with this and we faced embarassment in public.We will always remain grateful to you all for saving us from our issues and we wish to express our thanks and appreciation”
