The children at Bladon Primary School have just completed the “Smartie” Challenge !
The first part is quite enjoyable as they all got to eat a tube of Smarties. The idea then is to try and fill the tube with loose change which is going to help supply desk and bench sets at a small rural school in Sierra Leone. The majority of the children at Kunduma school currently sit on the floor as they cannot afford to buy furniture. At least now they are concrete floors because until 6 weeks ago they were all just compacted earth which was very dusty and dirty.
The Challenge raised a total of £172 which, with the current exchange rate, will pay for 19 desk and bench sets which will mean 57 children at the school will be able to sit comfortably and have a desk rather than balance their books on their laps when they are writing.
MANY thanks to the Bladon children for “Making A Real Difference” for the Kunduma children.
