When I first visited the school in 2013 it was called the Good News Pentecostal Junior School and 80+ children were being taught in a very cramped church hall with many of them sitting on the floor as they didn’t have enough benches and no desks. I promised Thomas, the Headteacher, that I would help when finances permitted and work to build a new school started in December 2014.
The first phase was to build and equip 2 classrooms and a toilet block – the school numbersĀ rose due to the new facilities so in 2016 we built an additional 2 classrooms, an office, small staff room and store and inevitably the numbers increased again. In 2017 we sunk a well at the school to give them a reliable source of clean water.
It was then that they re-named the school in recognition of all the support they had received. They wanted to introduce Junior Secondary classes at the school so a further 2 classrooms were built and equipped in 2019.
