What’s been going on during Covid ?

I have not posted articles since March, although I have been posting my Newsletters, but that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been supporting my communities in Sierra Leone. Below is a quick breakdon of what’s been happening:

  • Children have not been at school so the majority of the staff have not been earning as very few of them receive salaries from the government. With some fantastic support I have been able to pay subsistence allowances to the 83 staff who have had no income during the Covid crisis
  • Children who are taking their national exams have recently returned to school and we have supplied funds so that ALL these children can have a face mask to wear
  • We have undertaken a total “paint job” at one school and other general repairs and some painting at another school – I have funded the cost of materials and the staff have donated their time to do the work
  • We are continuing to supply Sunny Girl sanitary products to all the girls who have returned to classes
  • Momoh and his family and the Mahera Wharf orphans have been supported through the crisis

There have been 1,823 confirmed cases of Covid, 67 recorded deaths but 1,362 people have recovered from the virus
