Banbury International Community School

When I first visited in 2013 school was a cramped church hall with 80 primary age children squeezed in and not enough furniture for all of them. I gave Thomas, the Head, an undertaking that I would help when funds permitted.

We built the first 2 classrooms and a toilet block in 2015/16 and a second 2 classrooms plus an office, staff room and store in 2017. The number of children was steadily rising, due to the improved facilities and last April, on my last visit I once again pledged to build extra classrooms when adequate funds were available.  In September they started to teach Junior Secondary students so once again the numbers increased BUT they still had to wait for funding.

Work began at the start of February to build a further 2 classrooms. As with all my projects everything is done manually, including making all the concrete blocks, and the progress is really good.

This photo shows the progress after just one week !!
