Rose is a pupil at Willesley School in Ashby De La Zouch and has heard me talk, in their school assemblies, about Liverpool Community School in Waterloo, Freetown. She decided that she wanted to do a fundraiser to support the children at her “link school”. I was expecting a biscuit or cake sale but I obviously don’t know Rose that well !

She has just completed The  Great North “Swim 250”, 10 lengths of a standard swimming pool, BUT she did it on an overcast day in Lake Windermere !! Last Monday she stood up in assembly, proudly wearing her event T-shirt & her medal, and told all the 400 children about the event. She explained that she wore a wet suit (obviously) and that she just swam 250 metres (like you do) then told them that with sponsorship she had raised an AMAZING £200.76.

I presented Rose with a Certificate of Appreciation for her great fundraiser and will be reporting back to her, her family and the school once we have allocated the money for a specific purpose at Liverpool School.

It just shows that at just 8 years of age you can still “Make A Real Difference” – thanks so much Rose
