In mid May, Hawa & Mary received £50 each to enable them to set up a small business to help provide for their families. Alternative schemes charge interest on the loan, but my priority is to give both these ladies a “Hand up” & “Make A Real Difference” for them. The plan is that for 10 months they will repay £5 each and then the money will be re-invested either to them, so they can grow the business, or to another new person.With my initial loan, they were able to buy stock from a wholesaler, sell it on in their community at a cheaper price than it will be available in the local market and they will generate an income from the profit they make.

I am really pleased to report that they have both just paid back their first instalment & they are both making money from the venture– good result all round. A MICRO loan making a BIG difference
