In May I set up a small micro credit scheme for 2 ladies in the Waterloo Community, lending each of the ladies £50 on the basis that they each paid back £5 per month and my scheme, unlike other larger schemes, does not charge any interest. I have also given a one off payment to a lady, whose husband does a lot of voluntary work for me “in country”, to enable her to expand her shop that she runs from home.

I am pleased to report that they Mary & Tewa have both paid back £25 each and this has enabled me to introduce a new member to the scheme and she has just received her initial loan of £50 on the same basis as the other ladies.

Although this is only a small scheme it is making a BIG difference to these ladies and their families.
