Oxford United Academy donate football boots to Sierra Leone teams

For over 12 years Oxford United have been supporting my work in Sierra Leone with the donation of copious amounts of football kit.

A couple of months ago the Academy asked the youngsters to donate any football boots that they had grown out of. A total of 43 pairs were received. However a lot of the youngsters also donated football shirts and shorts that they had grown out of and the Academy also donated some kit. This was all shipped to Freetown, arriving just after Easter.

The photo below shows the boys at Mahera Wharf Oxford United, in kit supplied by Oxford, proudly displaying their new boots!!

Another example of recycling at it’s best. Sincere thanks to the youngsters, parents and staff at Oxford United Academy for their great support
